Semporna is a town located in Tawau (my hometown) Division, in the east coast of Sabah, on the island of Borneo. It lives up to its name: Semporna – which is a Malay word meaning perfection. Smiley Semporna is also a transit point for tourists before proceeding offshore by boats to the world's famous islands - Sipadan Island and Mabul Island.

I'll let the pictures do the talking. For now, enjoy them! Smiley

On 5th March, I wanted to do something really special or something different for Ralph. Initially, I planned to give him a birthday surprise by cooking him his favorite meal instead of relying on the typical dinner (we do this every year). My thoughts ran wild (ahem! ahem! not that wild!). Now, my effort involves cooking! Cooking a special dinner for him, including wine and a special dessert can be just the ticket to spark romance. Whoever said that the way to a man's heart was through his stomach knew what they were talking about. Moreover, I've never cooked a proper meal for anyone. So this would surely be a big surprise for him.

Sadly, as many of you have probably surmised, I don't cook, can't cook. And I can't take failure on his special day. To cut a long story short, my siblings and I booked a table in a Japanese restaurant without his knowledge and celebrated his birthday. That was the surprise. Smiley

Well, I guess it is time for me to embark on an adventure of cooking and embrace it as a part of my new resolution. Perhaps it is not that hard to do so. Basic idea of cooking is the willingness of playing with fire and get ready to sweaty in a hot kitchen. Oh dear... Am I really into this? It is totally a new thing for me. Smiley Anyway, I still have a long year ahead of me to practice. Besides, people say "Practice makes perfect". I hope that his next year's birthday will be different and special. I would do my very best to learn and get used to the idea of cooking.

At Recipe Search I found some of the tastiest recipes and one of them is this Five-Minute Chocolate Mug Cake!!!

In 5 minutes?? Wow! How can I resist seeing what this "really quick chocolate" something is? Smiley

Aside from the prestigious ceremony itself, the other most important part of Oscar night, is of course the fashion! It's the biggest night in Hollywood, when fashion and cinema meet at the most glamorous red carpet of the year. The stars dressed to the nines at the recent 82nd Academy Awards, strutting on the red carpet in nothing but the best from what a few of today's best designers have to offer. Some stars played it too safe, while others took risks that just didn't pay off. It takes all kinds and I love to see them all.

Yes, one of my favorite past time is checking out the Celebrity Style guide and get up-to-date on all the hottest trends from the runway to the red carpet!

Let's check out some of the gowns that were seen on the red carpet.

Sandra Bullock

Best Actress winner Sandra Bullock has been making red-carpet waves this season with one stunning dress after another, and her Oscar look is no exception. The star of The Blind Side shines in body-hugging metallic silver Marchesa. She kept her look clean with minimal jewelry, straight and simple hair, a metallic clutch purse, and bright fuchsia lipstick.

Cameron Diaz

This 37 year old was looking stunning, from her gold-dusted Oscar de la Renta gown and her Cartier jewels, even down to her perfectly curled locks.

Jennifer Lopez

The sexy mom of two played up her famous curves in a sculptural Armani Privé pale pink gown with a dramatic slit on one side and an exaggerated train that jutted out from her hip. Armani said the dress was inspired by the romance and mystery of the moon.

Demi Moore

The 47-year-old was sexy yet sophisticated in a ruffled silk organza Atelier Versace number. Congrats go out Demi for skillfully matching her skin tone to her gown!

Penelope Cruz

The Best Supporting Actress nominee was simply ravishing in a dusky red draped Donna Karan satin pleated gown with Chopard jewels. It's a good change from her usual black do's!

Kate Winslet

Last year's Best Actress winner returned to present the 2010 award in shades of soft champagne in her bustier-topped YSL dress and $2.5 million Tiffany & Co. diamond necklace. Though elegant, the dress lacked the flair she's typically famous for.

Kristen Stewart

Twilight's Kristen Stewart skipped her usual tomboy chic for an utterly feminine, custom Monique Lhuillier navy trumpet gown. The strapless quality as well as the waist-accentuating details all created the perfect aura to land on the best dressed list.

Sarah Jessica Parker

Fashionistas like Sarah Jessica Parker can afford to take chances on the red carpet, but the "Sex and the City" star may have alienated a few of her fans in this top-heavy citrus silk Chanel Haute Couture gown.

Nicole Richie

It's not the regular Oscar red carpet style but the soon-to-be-married star worked it in this vintage inspired Reem Akra dress with Bally heels, Lorraine Schwartz blackened platinum jewelry and a high bun.

Miley Cyrus

The "Hannah Montana" star's champagne Jenny Packham gown was gorgeous, but the 17-year-old's hunched posture simply didn't do it justice.

Diane Kruger

The 'Inglourious Basterds' starlet is polished in a ruffled Chanel Haute Couture collection gown, black accessories from Chanel and Chanel Fine Jewelry. I love her neutral makeup, too. She went all out, didn't she?

Rachel McAdams

One of the most interesting trends on the Oscar red carpet was the preponderance of prints and patterns. Rachel McAdams showed off her version of the look when she arriving wearing an Elie Saab Spring 2010 Haute Couture strapless gown. The soft pastel hues and hand-pleated bodice look wonderfully romantic on her and so seasonally chic too.

Carey Mulligan

Cute and quirky Carey Mulligan's dress is just like her. The Best Actress nominee went for classic with a twist in her Prada gown with Swarovski crystal embellishment – including tiny forks, knives, bolts, watch gears, scissors and other random trinkets!

Anna Kendrick

The Best Supporting Actress nominee floated in her pale pink draped Elie Saab Haute Couture gown, crystal Judith Leiber clutch, Sergio Rossi heels and Kwiat diamonds. The pale pink off the shoulder gown was simple and elegant. I love it!

Maggie Gyllenhaal

The Best Supporting Actress nominee made a bold choice for the evening with this floral Dries Van Noten column gown. Kudos to Maggie for being one of the few who was willing to take a step outside the generic Oscars red carpet box! However, her watercolor-inspired frock was a bit casual for the Oscar's, no?

Mariah Carey

What do you think of the singer-actress in her Valentino Haute Couture midnight-blue gown with a thigh-high slit?

Zoe Saldana

With her blockbuster Avatar up for multiple awards, the willowy star went for high drama in her over-the-top Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci ruffled purple gown made her look like a flower in bloom. I loved the sparkling bodice and ruffled tulle skirt separately, just not together.

Charlize Theron

Created by John Galliano for Dior, this strapless, sweeping floor length pink dress could do without the prominent petals on Charlize Theron's chest. I know you can't quit staring, and it pulls away from what you should be looking at: her face.

There you have it, ladies! Who gets your vote for best and worst dressed on the Oscars 2010 red carpet? If you absolutely had to pick one of these to wear yourself, which one would you go for?
