I love food and enjoy it as often as I can: for meals, between meals, on the couch, and I am an equal opportunity eater. I love Chinese, Thai, Italian, Japanese, Malay, and of course, American. But, I can't cook! To me, cooking isn't a pleasure - eating is. LOL! I hugely frustrated when asking Ralph about how much of an ingredient to add, and invariably getting the "oh, just the right amount" answer. I know the frustration of not being able to cook. It can be embarrassing and it can be a pain! But then again, I try. It does take practice though.
I've got to admit, I have to follow recipes exactly if I have to cook. I browse SandyandSue's large collection of all-American recipes to find the ones I just can't wait to try! Got a great recipe your family loves? Tell the world and let the compliments roll in when you post it for others to try! And if you have a question, a triumph you want to share, or you just want to chat with other American home cooks, try their community message boards, where you're bound to find what you need! It's also the place to meet up with them and exchange recipes and ideas!
Now dig in!
Chocolate fudge brownies. When it comes to sweets and baked treats, this ex-school principal really takes the cake.

Italian Grilled Chicken Breasts. Looking to spice up chicken dinners? This is a simple and delicious chicken dish that is good for a family dinner or for entertaining. For an even better taste, buy free-range chicken breasts.

Wacky Cake. This is my Grandma's recipe from World War II. It was popular then because it doesn't require any butter, eggs or milk. So it's great for vegans, but also, it's like a cool science experiment that you can eat (a chemical reaction between the vinegar and baking soda creates bubbles and get the cake to rise). Just add your favorite frosting and nuts!

Carrot Pudding.
Want eating your vegetables to feel like eating dessert? This is your recipe! A warm, smooth side dish that goes well with any meat-and-potatoes meal, it's sweet and creamy and irresistible!
OMG I'm drooling! Aren't you?
But you are the chef, so you can decide how you want to serve your creation. Good luck and enjoy your food!
